In April 2010, at WonderCon in San Francisco, IDW Publishing will premiere the first issue in a six-issue comics adaptation of The Last Unicorn. The remaining five issues will be released between June and November, 2010.

Each issue will have 32 full-color pages — 22 pages of story, plus 10 more for special features about The Last Unicorn, Peter S. Beagle, and Peter's other works.

This graphic adaptation was done under Peter's close supervision. He personally selected Peter B. Gillis (former Marvel, DC, and First Comics writer) to script the series, and the wife/husband team of Renae De Liz (pencils) and Ray Dillon (inks and colors) to do the art.

The results are absolutely extraordinary, as you can see from the sample covers and interior art reproduced here.
